Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani confirmed on Wednesday that Baghdad is ready to receive oil produced by the Kurdistan Region, as discussions on resuming oil exports continue. He stated that the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has agreed to retain 50,000 barrels per day for domestic consumption, while the remaining amount can be handed over to Iraq’s State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) for export.
The minister criticized the previous KRG cabinet, saying it had refused to deliver any oil to SOMO.
