The Iraqi High Election Commission (IHEC) announced that a total of 70 political parties and coalitions have registered for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
On Thursday, July 31, 2025, IHEC spokeswoman Jumana Ghalai said that 31 coalitions and 39 political parties have completed their registration process. She confirmed that the verification of candidate lists is ongoing and expected to conclude soon.
Ghalai added that the draw to assign numbers to the candidates and electoral lists will be held on August 9, in preparation for the scheduled elections.
