The Iraqi Finance Minister has signed two agreements with the French Development Agency to provide financing for two investment projects.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday, Iraqi Finance Minister Taif Sami will sign an agreement with the French Development Agency to provide €130 million in loans for two sewerage projects.
The first agreement involves the signing of a supplementary loan worth €30 million for the Khalidiya district sewerage project in Anbar province, bringing the total financing for the project to €110 million.
The second agreement concerns the financing of a sewerage project in the Hamza district in Diwaniya province, with a loan of €100 million.
The ministry noted that the agreements are part of a financial package provided by the French government to support infrastructure projects across various provinces. This effort aligns with the Federal General Budget Law for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025, and supports the ministerial program's emphasis on directing borrowing towards economically viable investment projects.
