Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israel carried out an airstrike near the Syrian presidential palace in Damascus, citing the protection of the Druze community as the reason. Speaking alongside Defense Minister Israel Katz, Netanyahu stated that the strike, conducted late Thursday, sent a "clear message” to the Syrian regime, warning against any military presence south of Damascus that could threaten the Druze. The Israeli military added that its warplanes successfully struck a site near the palace of Syrian President Ahmed Shara. This marks Israel’s second attack on Syria in two days.
