Members of the New Generation Movement visited the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Council of Ministers, accusing the government of theft over its failure to distribute salaries for December last year.
Kurdawan Jamal, head of the New Generation faction in the KRG parliament, told NRT that the non-payment of December salaries amounts to a "big theft" by the executive authority.
He said they would not remain silent in the face of what he described as the government stealing from its own employees.
Jamal also claimed that the ruling government had enough domestic revenues and smuggled oil income to pay the salaries but chose not to.
