The Iraqi government has formed a new health committee and allocated $3 billion from the emergency reserve budget to manage and control the spread of diseases. The committee will oversee public health measures and regulate meat and livestock imports.
The Iraqi government has formed a National Health Committee to fight epidemics and control disease outbreaks, allocating more than $3 billion from the emergency reserve budget to support these efforts.
According to a statement from the Iraqi Council of Ministers, the import of meat and live animals will be permitted, with necessary safety measures to be enforced.
The committee will also be responsible for managing public health crises and making decisions to protect the community.
The government also stated that licenses for slaughterhouses will be extended for three to five years, once they meet official health and safety requirements.
