BAGHDAD – The Iraqi Independent High Election Commission (IHEC) announced on Saturday that 70 political parties have officially registered to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The commission stated that over 60 previously registered coalitions remain active, and their data can be updated if any coalition joins or withdraws. It was also noted that coalition leaders are permitted to head more than one coalition.
IHEC added that the registration fee for new coalitions is set at 5 million Iraqi dinars, while an additional fee of 1 million dinars applies for submitting the registration form.
Earlier, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, IHEC extended the voter registration period for one more month to ensure broader participation.
The Iraqi parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held on November 11, 2025.
