Norwegian oil company DNO announced on Wednesday that it has increased oil production in the Tawke and Fishkhabour fields located in Duhok province, with daily output now exceeding 82,000 barrels.

In a report released today summarizing data from the first quarter of 2025, DNO revealed a significant increase in production compared to the same period last year. The company stated that its share of the output now surpasses 18,000 barrels per day.

The announcement comes amid ongoing concerns about oil smuggling in the Kurdistan Region. Iraq’s Oil Minister previously revealed that around 300,000 barrels of oil are being smuggled daily from the region. Despite the suspension of official exports through pipelines, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) continue unauthorized sales. The federal government has warned that while these parties benefit from oil revenues, not a single dinar has been allocated for public salaries or development projects
