Former Iraqi President Barham Salih praised the Kurdistan Region as a beacon of diversity and coexistence, stating it serves as a "living example of unity” where compassion overcomes division. Speaking on Wednesday, Salih highlighted how Kurdistan has historically been a land where Muslims, Christians, Jews, Kakais, and Yazidis have lived together in harmony.
He also commended Pope Francis as a tireless advocate for peace and tolerance, emphasizing that the spiritual and cultural mosaic of Kurdistan—reflected in its mosques, churches, temples, and shrines—has long stood for resistance, faith, and a shared destiny.
