SULAIMANI — Secretary General of Kata'ib Sayyid al-Shuhada (KSS) Abu Ala al-Walai said on Saturday (July 24) that the militia will not abide by any agreement with the United States negotiated by the Iraqi government in the context of the Strategic Dialogue talks.

"The shame from giving away the sovereignty of Iraq has increased," al-Walai said on Twitter.

"America is shamelessly insistent on staying, justified with its ‘love for Iraq.’ It not only wants to extend its hand to Iraq's sovereignty, but also wants to invade our country,” he added.

Al-Walai said that Washington would be responsible for any bloodshed if US troops remain in Iraq.

The message from the KSS leader came days before Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi is due to meet with US President Biden at the White House, with the presence of US troops high on the agenda.

Additionally, he warned Turkey not to violate Iraq’s sovereignty, implying that any breaches would be forcefully resisted.
