1,010 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Saturday (July 24) it officially recorded 1,010 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.

There were 722 new cases in Duhok governorate, 166 in Erbil, and 122 in Sulaimani.

On June 20, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 1,985 infections.

The ministry also said fifteen patients had died from the disease, while 902 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 211,828 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 191,294 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 4,675 have died from it.

The numbers are almost certainly an undercount.
