SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Friday (May 14) it officially recorded 353 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.

There were 124 new cases in Sulaimani governorate, 110 in Duhok, 109 in Erbil, and ten in Halabja.

On October 27, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 1,597 infections.

The ministry also said seven patients had died from the disease, while 1,014 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 159,890 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 142,321 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 4,144 have died from it.
