SULAIMANI — Turkey’s state-run outlet Anadolu Agency said on Friday (October 23) Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) arrested a person in northern Iraq who is suspected of involvement in the Kayseri bus bombing that killed thirteen off-duty soldiers in central Turkey in 2016.

The Kurdistan Freedom Hawks (TAK), an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to the report, Ferhat Tekiner was arrested in cooperation with the police in northern Iraq, without specifying an exact jurisdiction. He is accused of supplying a vehicle to another suspect in the attack.

The PKK has not responded to the reports of the arrest.
