Seventh COVID-19 patient dies in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health said on Sunday (May 31) that a patient has died in Sulaimani governorate from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, bringing the Kurdistan Region’s death toll from the outbreak to seven.

According to the health ministry, the 70-year-old was from Chamchamal and had underlying health issues.

The patient was taken to the hospital after testing positive and died while under treatment.

According to the health ministry, 608 patients have tested positive for the virus in the Kurdistan Region since the beginning of the outbreak. Four hundred and twenty patients have recovered from COVID-19 and seven have died from it.
