SULAIMANI — Turkish fighter jets bombed targets near Nerwa and Rekan in Duhok’s Amedi district at round 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday (May 7).

NRT Digital Media reporter Nihad Oramari said that the warplanes again struck Kurazhar mountain for the second time in two days.

“The damage caused by the bombardment is yet unknown,” Oramari said.

The area hit on Monday is just two kilometers away from the center of Shiladze town, which caused fear and anxiety among the area’s residents, according to Oramari at the time..

Turkey has recently increased the frequency of it strikes on targets in the Kurdistan Region with at least seven strikes in a little more than a week.

Turkey conducts the raids as part of an effort to combat Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) bases in the Region.
