Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani said on Tuesday that the coming phase requires a constitutional timeframe to form a new government, stressing that he will begin dialogues with all political parties to establish a stable cabinet and determine the positions of the three presidencies.
Speaking at the Peace Forum, Sudani said the government is committed to protecting the constitutional rights of all political forces as part of a democratic process.
Sudani noted that the relationship between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region is marked by "strong dialogue,” describing the remaining issues as technical and related to coordination mechanisms.
He emphasized that both sides are working to "reduce obstacles,” including matters concerning the oil agreement and the arbitration law, adding that these did not pose major problems during the current government’s term.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the federal government considers the needs of the Kurdistan Region equal to those of all Iraqi provinces, stressing that "the problems of the people of the Region are the same as the problems of the people in every part of Iraq.”
