Three people were injured when a truck lost control and collided with nine vehicles on the Kirkuk–Sulaimanyah highway near Chamchamal, a traffic police source told NRT on Sunday.
The injured are in stable condition and sustained only minor wounds, according to the source. A witness said the accident caused heavy traffic congestion and described the sequence of events: the truck first hit a private vehicle, then struck a bus, pushing the car beneath it, while another vehicle veered off the bridge and several others were forced off the road.
The witness added that the bus was carrying students, whose lives were in danger during the collision. He blamed the incident on poor maintenance and neglect of the road by the outgoing government, calling for urgent repairs to prevent further accidents.
