The head of the Iraqi Border Gates Agency (IBGA) announced that revenues from the country’s border gates have increased by 150 percent, reaching 1.5 trillion Iraqi dinars in 2025.
The agency attributed the sharp increase to its reform measures, which included intensified efforts to combat administrative and financial corruption, as well as strict monitoring of port employees to ensure customs and tax procedures are implemented correctly.
Officials emphasized that these steps have had a significant impact on boosting state revenue and improving transparency in the operations of Iraq’s border ports.
