The New Generation Movement faction in the Kurdistan Parliament announced on Wednesday that it will continue to carry out the decisions and messages of its leader, Shaswar Abdulwahid Qadir, who has been under arrest for 16 days.
Kurdawan Jamal, head of the New Generation faction, told a press conference that the party remains committed to Abdulwahid’s leadership, even while he is in prison. "We will implement Shaswar Abdulwahid’s messages and decisions from prison,” he said.
Abdulwahid, founder and leader of the New Generation Movement, was detained earlier this month and faces trial in the Sulaimani court on Thursday. His supporters have vowed to attend the hearing to show solidarity.
"Those who support the truth will be present in the Sulaimani court tomorrow,” Jamal added.
