A group of young people gathered in Kifri on Thursday to protest their continued unemployment, despite being promised jobs last year. The demonstrators said that 168 youths were assured employment following a 31-day strike in 2023, but have yet to receive official appointment orders.
Several protestors told NRT that they completed all necessary legal procedures since January 2024, but the Kurdistan Regional Government has not followed through. This marks their second protest in front of the Garmian administration building, with no official response so far.
