The first convoy of pilgrims from Sulaimani province departed for Mecca today to perform the obligatory Hajj pilgrimage. According to NRT, about 200 pilgrims will travel by land, while 320 are scheduled to fly.
In total, 1,645 pilgrims from the Kurdistan Region will take the land route, and 3,491 are set to travel via Erbil and Sulaimani international airports in November. The cost of Hajj is set at 7 million dinars for air travel and 5.5 million dinars for land travel.
