April 26, 2025 – Iran’s missile program continues to be a major point of contention between Washington and Tehran, an informed Iranian official told Reuters on Saturday.

"Iran’s position is stable. It will not compromise on its missile program beyond the 2015 agreement. Iran’s defense capabilities will not be negotiated,” the official said, adding that missile development remains outside the scope of current negotiations.

The missile issue is expected to be discussed alongside uranium enrichment during ongoing diplomatic efforts.

The third round of U.S.-Iran talks is set to resume today in Muscat, with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Iraqchi and U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff leading technical delegations and experts from both sides.
