Sarwa Abdulwahid, leader of the New Generation Movement faction in the Iraqi parliament, has filed a legal complaint with the Federal Court against the new amendment granting lifetime diplomatic passport privileges.
Abdulwahid argued that the law violates the Iraqi constitution, stating, "All citizens are equal before the law, and the privileges of diplomatic passports contradict this principle.” She emphasized that any public official must relinquish such privileges after their service ends and called for the passports to be revoked once their term is over.
