SULAIMANI — An Iraqi delegation will travel to Turkey to
negotiate an agreement on oil exports following the international arbitration
court ruling in Baghdad’s favor over the dispute with Ankara on Kurdistan’s
oil.
A senior official in the Iraqi Oil Ministry told Sharq
al-Awsat news that the delegation will meet with Turkish energy officials and
once again come to an agreement on Iraq's crude oil exports through Turkey.
A source said that the Kurdistan Region’s oil exports will
only remain in place in accordance with Iraq's State Organization for Marketing
Oil (SOMO) guidelines.
Reuters said on Saturday that ships at Turkey’s
Mediterranean Ceyhan port will not be permitted to load crude oil from the
Kurdistan Region and Turkey has ceased pumping crude from the Ceyhan pipeline.
