SULAIMANI — New Generation Movement President Shaswar
Abdulwahid said on Sunday (July 31)protests will occur all over the Kurdistan Region on August 6 and stated
the public has had enough with "facing injustice.”
Abdulwahid said remaining silent toward a government that is
continuously careless in regards to the basic rights of its people has ended.
He added the crises facing the Kurdistan Region include
"monthly salary delays, the lack of job opportunities, the absence of promotion
for employees, high gasoline prices, and many more [issues].”
Abdulwahid noted that although oil prices are at their
highest and the Kurdistan Region’s revenue has increased, the cost of basic
goods has not decreased and these problems have not been resolved.
The NGM president said as an opposition party, the New
Generation Movement believes it is their responsibility to support the Kurdish
people to stand against "all this unfairness.”
"Next Saturday, the biggest demonstration will happen in
Kurdistan and people should not remain at home any longer,” Abdulwahid said.
