SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday (July 21) it officially recorded 1,078 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.

There were 611 new cases in Duhok governorate, 360 in Erbil, and 107 in Sulaimani.

On October 27, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 1,597 infections.

The ministry also said eleven patients had died from the disease, while 723 others recovered.

According to the health ministry, there have been 208,000 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 188,780 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 4,626 have died from it.
