Iraqi, foreign nationals must provide negative coronavirus test to enter Kurdistan Region

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Interior said on Monday (March 6) that Iraqi and foreign nationals are allowed to enter the Kurdistan Region through international border crossings on the condition that they provide a negative coronavirus test from at most 72 hours before.

They will then have to quarantine for a period time determined by the health ministry, but did not say in its statement how long that would be.

The new order will be implemented starting from Monday.

According to the health ministry, there have been 110,512 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 104,488 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 3,537 have died from it.
