Iraq exports more than 1bn barrels oil in 2020: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Oil said on Saturday (January 23) that Iraq exported more than one billion barrels of oil during 2020, noting that Chinese and Indian companies were the largest buyers, followed by American companies.

“Total oil exports for the year 2020 amounted to 1,096,345,000 barrels, with a daily average of 2,362,000 barrels,” the ministry said in a statement.

It said that income brought in from crude oil sales amounted to $41.755 billion.

The total exports from the oil fields in Basra and central Iraq amounted to 1,060,454,000 barrels with income amounting to $40.488 billion, it added.
