Iraq passes 350,000 COVID-19 infections, 9,000 fatalities: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Monday (September 28) that it recorded 4,116 new cases of coronavirus infection and 62 deaths in the country.

Of the total 1,332 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, along with 383 in Wasit, 292 in Erbil, 283 in Duhok, 191 in Diwaniya, 185 in Babil, 180 in Basra, 173 in Diyala, 160 in Sulaimani, 139 in Maysan, 137 in Muthanna, 128 I Nineveh, 125 in Saladin, 119 Dhi Qar, 105 in Najaf, 75 in Kirkuk, 68 I Karbala and 41 in Anbar.

The ministry said that 62 patients died from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and 4,111 patients recovered from it.

According to the health ministry, there have been 353,566 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 284,784 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 9,052 have died from it.
