SULAIMANI — Two Iranian border guards were killed and another was wounded on Sunday (September 27) in a clash with smugglers in Hoor al-Azim, near the Iraqi border, Iranian state-owned news agency ISNA reported.

The mayor of Hiwaiza town in Khuzestan province said that the wounded soldier was taken to a hospital, where he is in stable condition.

The incident occurred when the members of the Iranian security forces were inspecting the border area.
