SULAIMANI — Head of the Kurdistan Region’s Investment Board Muhammed Shukri said on Saturday (September 26) that the government has approved licenses to establish 100 industrial and agricultural factories in the Kurdistan Region and that work is expected to start as soon as possible.

Shukri told the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) official media outlet that the Board wanted to reduce the amount of paperwork and bureaucracy needed to invest in the Region.

He did not provide details about the plans, only saying that specifics would be revealed in the future.

He added that the government has informed the owners of the factories, noting that some had been waiting for years for approval.
