569 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — Continuing a week of record high numbers of new cases, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health said on Thursday  (August 13) that it has recorded 569 new cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region over the past 24 hours.

A total of 323 of the newest cases are in Erbil governorate, along with 143 in Duhok, 69 in Sulaimani, and 23 in Garmian, and 11 in Halabja.

The ministry also said that thirteen patients have died from the virus, while 177 patients recovered from the disease.

According to the health ministry, there have been 19,335 cases of coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 10,821 patients has recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and 699 have died from it.
