292 cartons of chicken liver seized by security forces in Erbil

SULAIMANI — Erbil Central District said on Sunday (August 9) that the Erbil Asayish Directorate seized 292 cartons of prohibited chicken liver from a cargo truck, after its driver tried to import it into governorate through the Degala checkpoint.

“The Bazaar Inspection and Monitoring Committee in Erbil Central District inspected the liver. It turned out to be the kind of the liver that is not permitted. Importing chicken liver is prohibited according to instructions of the Kurdistan Regional Government's Agriculture [and Water Resources] Ministry,” Erbil Central District said in a press release.

“Legal procedures have been taken. The vehicle was impounded and its owner was arrested,” the statement continued, which added that the liver was destroyed.
