Kirkuk officials announce new curfew regulations

SULAIMANI — The Kirkuk Crisis Cell said on Saturday (July 11) that a partial curfew will be implemented from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Sunday to Wednesday and a total curfew from Thursday to Saturday.

The Kirkuk Crisis Cell said in a statement that employees at government offices will operate from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., adding that residents, employees, and members of the security forces should adhere to public health guidelines, especially wearing masks and gloves.

On July 9, Iraq’s Higher Committee for Health and National Safety said that all Iraqis will be allowed to travel outside the country on condition that they are quarantined for fourteen days on their return.

According to the health ministry, there have been 75,194 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 43,079 patients have recovered from COVID-19, and 3,055 have died from it.
