Kurdistan Region passes 9,000 total coronavirus cases: ministry

Including seven new deaths in the past 24-hours

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health said on Saturday (July 11) that it has recorded 296 new cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region.

A total of 104 of the newest cases are in Erbil governorate, along with 77 in Sulaimani, 28 in Garmian administration, ten in Halabja, and nine in Duhok.

The ministry also said that seven patients died from the virus, while 83 patients recovered from the disease.

According to the health ministry, there have been 9,201 cases of coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 3,294 patients have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and 312 have died from it.
