298 new coronavirus cases in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health said on Thursday (July 9) that it has recorded 298 new cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region.

A total of 107 of the newest cases are in Sulaimani governorate, along with 106 in Erbil, 56 in the Garmian administration, twenty in the Raparin administration, six in Halabja, and three in Duhok.

The ministry also said that twelve patients died from the virus, including seven from Sulaimani governorate, four from Erbil, and one from the Garmian administration, while 64 patients recovered from the disease.

According to the health ministry, there have been 8,726 cases of coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 3,072 patients have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and 294 have died from it.
