294 new coronavirus cases in Kurdistan Region: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health said on Wednesday (July 8) that it has recorded 294 new cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region.

A total of 114 of the newest cases are in Sulaimani governorate, along with 74 in the Garmian administration, 57 in Erbil, 29 in Duhok, and twenty in Halabja.

The ministry also said that eleven patients died from the virus, including four from Erbil governorate, three from Sulaimani, and four from the Garmian administration, while 140 patients recovered from the disease.

According to the health ministry, there have been 8,428 cases of coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 3,008 patients have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and 282 have died from it.
