Kurdistan Region passes 7,000 confirmed coronavirus cases: ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health said on Saturday (July 4) that it has recorded 204 new cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region.

A total of 176 of the newest cases are in Sulaimani governorate, 25 in Erbil, and three in Duhok.

The ministry also said that nine patients died from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, while 268 patients recovered from it.

According to the health ministry, there have been 7,048 cases of coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 2,520 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 240 have died from it.
