SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Friday (July 3) that it recorded 2,312 new cases of coronavirus and 102 deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

A total of 766 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, 221 in Basra, 195 in Wasit, 177 in Sulaimani, 122 in Karbala, 118 in Dhi Qar, 110 in Maysan, 96 in Najaf, 92 in Diwaniya, 92 in Wasit, 85 in Saladin, 76 in Kirkuk, 73 in Erbil, 48 in Muthanna, 31 in Diyala, six in Anbar, and four in Duhok.

The ministry said that 102 patients died from the virus and 1,688 patients recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection.

According to the health ministry, there have been 56,020 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 29,600 patients have recovered from COVID-19, and 2,262 have died from it.
