250 new coronavirus cases in Kurdistan Region: health ministry

SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health said on Thursday (July 2) that it has recorded 250 new cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region.

A total of 86 of the newest cases are in Sulaimani governorate, 73 in Erbil, 68 in the Garmian administration, and twenty-three in Raparin administration.

The ministry also said that ten patients died from the virus, including five from Sulaimani, two in Erbil, two in Garmian administration, and one in Raparin administration, while 86 patients recovered from the disease.

According to the health ministry, there have been 6,653 cases of coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 2,164 patients have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and 223 have died from it.
