Fifty-two new coronavirus cases recorded in Kurdistan Region: ministry

 SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health said on Wednesday (June 3) that it recorded forty-eight new cases of coronavirus infection in Sulaimani governorate, two in the Raparin administration, and two in Erbil governorate.

The newest patients in Sulaimani include twenty-three women, twenty-three men, and two children. forty-four of the patients are from Sulaimani city, one from Bazian, one from Arbat, one from Said Sadiq, and one who recently returned from Kirkuk. Forty of the patients presented with symptoms of the disease and eight of them were found through contact tracing.

In Raparin, a 43-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman tested positive.

The two patients in Erbil are a 27-year-old man and a 75-year-old man from Ankawa and Kwestan districts respectively.

According to the health ministry, there have been 905 cases of coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region. Four hundred and thirty-six patients have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection, and fourteen have died from it.

More than half of the total cases recorded in the Kurdistan Region have been identified in the last three weeks. The first case in the Region was recorded on March 1.
