781 new cases of coronavirus recorded in Iraq: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Wednesday (June 3) that it recorded 781 new cases of coronavirus and twenty-one deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

437 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate,fifty-two in Duhok, forty-six in Sulaimani, forty-one in Basra, thirty-five in Kirkuk, thirty-five in Maysan, thirty-three in Babel, twenty-eight in Dhi Qar, nineteen in Najaf, eighteen in Muthanna, eleven in Karbala, eight in Diyala, seven in Diwaniyah, six in Erbil, and five in Anbar.

The ministry said that twenty-one patients died from the virus and 587 patients recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection.

According to the health ministry, there have been 8,168 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 4,095 patients have recovered from COVID-19, and 256 have died from it.
