416 cases of coronavirus recorded in Iraq: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Friday (May 29) that it recorded 416 new cases of coronavirus and six deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

Two hundred and sixty-five of the newest patients were in Baghdad governorate, thirty-one cases in Dhi Qar, Twenty-eight in Karbala, twenty-two in Sulaimani, sixteen in Babil, fifteen in Basra, thirteen in Diyala, seven in Wasit, five in Najaf, four in Maysan, three in Nuthanna, three in Kirkuk, two in Saladin, one in Diwaniyah, and one in Nineveh.

The ministry said that six patients died from the virus. Five from in Baghdad and one from Baghdad and seventy-three patients recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection.

According to the health ministry, there have been 5,873 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. A total of 3,044 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 185 have died from it.
