322 new cases of coronavirus recorded in Iraq: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Thursday (May 28) that it recorded 322 new cases of coronavirus and four deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

Two hundred and twenty-four of the newest patients were in Baghdad governorate, twenty-two in Karbala, twenty-one in Erbil, sixteen in Sulaimani, eleven in Babil, six in Wasit, five in Muthanna, four in Dhi Qar,  three in Basra, three in Maysan, two in Najaf two in Diwaniyah, and one in Kirkuk.

The ministry said that four patients died from the virus in Baghdad and sixty-seven patients recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection.

According to the health ministry, there have been 5,457 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. A total of 2,971 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 179 have died from it.
