163 new cases of coronavirus, three deaths recorded in Iraq: ministry

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Monday (May 25) that it recorded 163 new cases of coronavirus and three deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

One hundred and sixteen of the newest cases were in Baghdad governorate, twenty-two in Nineveh, ten in Sulaimani, four in Diwaniyah, three in Erbil, three in Basra, two in Najaf, one in Babil, one in Karbala, and one in Dhi Qar.

The ministry said that three patients died from the virus in Baghdad, and seventy-three patients recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection.

According to the health ministry, there have been 4,632 cases of coronavirus in Iraq. 2,811 patients have recovered from COVID-19, and 163 have died from it.
