SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Interior said on Monday (April 6) that the total lockdown will end at midnight on Tuesday.

Following that, residents will be allowed to leave their homes daily from midnight to 6 p.m. until at least April 10, when the current curfew is currently scheduled to end, KRG Minister of Interior Rebar Ahmad.

During the remaining late evening hours, all residents will be required to stay at home like during the total lockdown.

The entire Kurdistan Region is currently under a curfew to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Starting at midnight, residents will again be allowed to go to nearby stores to shop for food and necessities during the 18-hour period, but are otherwise encouraged to remain at home and limit social interactions.

The governorates and administration are authorized to allow certain business to remain open.

Members of the security forces, doctors and medical professionals, and journalists are exempt from the order as long as they are on duty.

Limited trade activities will continue as they did under the curfew orders before the total lockdown.
