Iraq extends coronavirus curfew until April 11

SULAIMANI — Iraq’s federal government announced on Thursday (March 26) that it was extending a curfew designed to prevent the spread of coronavirus until April 11.

The Council of Ministers decided to take the step after heath directorates recorded 50 new cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours in governorates across Iraq, including Kurdistan Region.

On Wednesday, the federal Ministry of Health and Environment announced that Iraq’s total number of coronavirus cases has reached 346. Twenty-nine patients have died from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection.
