New center for disability registration to open: minister

 SULAIMANI — Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Kwestan Mohamad said on Thursday (October 3) that government will build a new center for people with disabilities.

The center will primarily be used to register people with disabilities who are not yet receiving benefits.

Muhammad told NRT that he expects to receive approval to build the center from the Cabinet on Sunday.

There are nearly 125,000 people with disabilities in the Kurdistan Region, according to statistics cited by the People with Disabilities Union of Kurdistan and more than 81,000 passed a recent medical test that qualifies them to have benefits.
