The Iraqi High Election Commission (IHEC) announced on Tuesday that the issuance and distribution of biometric voting cards will continue until polling day. The commission stated that voters who recently registered for biometric cards will be able to collect their cards and cast their votes on election day.
Meanwhile, Nabard Omar, head of the Kurdistan Regional Election Commission within the IHEC, told NRT that 90% of polling station staff in the Kurdistan Region have completed their training, while the remaining 10% will be trained today.
According to the commission, 250,000 polling station employees are required for both the general and special elections, while more than 823,000 people have applied for the positions.
