Kawa Abdulqadir, a former member of the Iraqi parliament, addressed the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on Saturday, questioning why it has failed to comply with agreements with Baghdad and blocked the remittance of salaries to employees.
"How long will you play with the conscience of the people and salaried workers? How long will agreements be delayed from week to week?” Abdulqadir asked.
He further criticized the KRG for selling smuggled oil at $30 per barrel instead of $70 through SOMO and accused the government of looting internal revenues, neglecting citizens, and worsening unemployment and family hardships.
Abdulqadir’s remarks come amid growing public frustration over delays in salaries and the lack of compliance with revenue-sharing agreements between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region.
